EADS North America Acquires Talon Instruments

11/29/2005  Arlington, VA -- EADS North America has strengthened its test and services business portfolio with the acquisition of Talon Instruments, a California-based company that specializes in digital test instrumentation.

Talon Instruments will become part of EADS North America Defense Test & Services, the EADS North America subsidiary that designs, manufactures, sells and services electronic test and measurement equipment, systems and software for high-technology customers around the world.

"This acquisition brings a recognized leader in the design and development of digital test instrumentation into our line-up of EADS North America companies," said Ralph D. Crosby, Chairman and CEO of EADS North America. "Our purchase of Talon Instruments is part of the long-term growth strategy for EADS North America, and it further strengthens our position as a highly capable test and services company."

Talon Instruments develops and manufactures complex instrumentation for the test and validation of digital equipment on aircraft, weapons and other systems. Its products include programmable digital test modules, serial emulators and waveform generators.

The Talon Instruments product line complements the products and capabilities of EADS North America Defense Test & Services (formerly Racal Instruments), the test equipment manufacturer acquired by EADS North America in October 2004. EADS North America Defense Test & Services already has a close working relationship with Talon Instruments, serving as the sole distributor for the company's products in the U.S. and internationally.
