EPIC-sized SBC features Intel Core 2 Duo and SUMIT
interface
VersaLogic
Corp. recently introduced the "Komodo",
the highest performing EPIC™-sized SBC in the industry!
Running on the new Intel Core™2 Duo (model P8400) 45 nm
processor, the new Komodo performs at an impressive 2.27
GHz, with mid-range power consumption. Standard on-board
features include gigabit Ethernet, up to 4 GB DDR3 memory,
four USB 2.0 ports, two SATA interfaces, two RS-232/422/485
COM ports, PS/2 keyboard and mouse, HD audio, as well as
dual LVDS and analog VGA support.
The SUMIT interface supports a variety of expansion
options, including PCI Express, USB, LPC bus, SPI/uWire and
SMBUS/I˛C serial buses. Komodo is an ideal solution for OEM
designers in defense, aerospace, and medical markets because
of its processing power, extended temperature operation, low
power requirements, and five-year product lifecycle
guarantee. The Komodo is available in limited quantities.

New SUMIT-based expansion modules
VersaLogic
Corp. has also recently announced two new SUMIT-based
expansion modules. The new modules feature the industry
standard SUMIT interface developed by the SFF-SIG™. The
VL-EPMs-E1 features both high-speed wired Ethernet channels
and optional wireless Ethernet functionality via a PCI
Express Mini Card interface. The VL-EPMs-PS1 power supply
card accepts +9 to +40 VDC input and provides clean +5V and
±12 VDC output for powering an embedded system without an
external supplyboard stack.
All VersaLogic embedded computer products are ideal
solutions for OEM designers in defense, aerospace and
medical markets because of their extended temperature
operation, low power requirements and five-year product
lifecycle guarantee.
