Q: What
are the advantages of bonded foil strain
gage-based and silicon-based pressure sensors?
A: Bonded
foil strain gauge-based pressure sensors are
excellent choices for high pressure and high
temperature applications. Strain gage-based
sensors are also very flexible in the number of
designs they can be used for. This makes them
often ideal for short run specials or unique,
application specific solutions. Silicon-based
pressure sensors offer an increased frequency
response with an enhanced overload capability.
Silicon-based pressure sensors are often used in
low pressure applications due to their higher
sensitivity. |

91MCE Series Miniature Limit Switch
Honeywell introduces the newest addition to our
"OEM Set" series of miniature, low-cost limit
switches. The 91MCE Series limit switch package
size is designed to fit into applications where
space is limited. The 20mm mounting pattern meets
most global mounting standards. The rugged metal
housing is epoxy sealed and offers IP67: NEMA 1,
4, 12, and 13 sealing. Priced competitively, the
91MCE is a drop-in replacement for many
equivalent, competitive products.

LCD Maintenance/Hour Meter
The
first in our new electronic platform, the LCD
maintenance/hour meter provides a readout of total
elapsed operation time for the equipment on which
it is installed. Available with a 50-hour
indicator to alert the operator when maintenance
is due, the meter's internal battery allows for a
viewable display even when it is not accumulating
hours. Potential applications include lawn and
garden equipment, golf carts, snow blowers, sport
vehicles including snowmobiles and ATVs, portable
generators, compressors, welders and commercial
sprayers.

FF Series Contact-less Safety Switches
Honeywell's new FF Series safety switches may help
to preserve safety even in environments where
contamination or misalignment of doors and panels
is an issue. Designed for industrial machinery and
factory floor applications, the FF Series provides
totally contact-less safety door detection.
Magnetic actuators detect if a door or panel has
been opened, and stop the machine's action to
enhance operational safety. The addition of the FF
Series to our safety switch product portfolio
gives you one trusted source for all your safety
hard-guarding solutions.

Demo Kit, Accessory/Replacement Parts Added to
EHM Offerings
Our Equipment Health Monitoring (EHM)
Detectors, designed to help prevent breakdowns,
increased maintenance and production stoppages,
debuted in 2005. We've now added
accessory/replacement connector pins and cables
and a demonstration kit to our offering to
increase convenience. Ten versions of the EHM are
available for potential applications requiring
independent system monitoring of physical
characteristics such as temperature loss or rise,
vibration, fluid flow or leak, mechanical noise or
wear, slope change, mechanical insertion or
audible noise.
