Geotest has introduced the latest version of ATEasy
– a complete application development framework for
functional test, automated test equipment (ATE),
data acquisition, process control, and
instrumentation systems. In the November issue of
NASA Tech Briefs (NTB), ATEasy 7.0 was awarded
"Product of the Month", which also qualifies ATEasy
as a finalist for NTB's "Product of the Year" award. |

|
ATEasy 7.0, the most
comprehensive test executive and test development
suite on the market, provides the tools to develop,
deploy, and maintain software components including
instrument drivers, test programs, user interfaces,
and a customizable test executive.

| With the
electronics industry's never-ending appetite
for speed and performance, the bandwidth
advantages of PXI Express (PXIe) are
becoming increasingly important for test
applications. To take full advantage of the
capabilities offered by PXI Express, you'll
need a chassis designed to handle PXIe
cards.

A Geotest user
forums website has been created which gives
Geotest users the opportunity to share
information and knowledge about Geotest
products. At the Geotest forums, users can
share information about projects, ATEasy
instrument drivers, Geotest products and
applications. Currently five forums are
available: Two for ATEasy (Drivers and
General topics), a forum for Digital IO
products, a forum for System Products and
one for all other Geotest products. |
The ATEasy
drivers forum allows users to share their
ATEasy instrument drivers while the other
forum can be used to share examples and
general questions or information about
ATEasy. To further personalize the
experience, users can upload their own icons
(avatars). Geotest hopes that the Geotest
user forums will have many participants and
posts. The Geotest forums can be found at

| The TS-375 test system is a
preconfigured test system designed specifically to
address both the military and commercial avionics
test markets for depot and MRO facilities. Based on
Geotest’s GX7102 PXI platform, GBATS offers test
engineers a compact, 3U / 6U system with a variety
of options for supporting analog, digital, and
mixed-signal test applications as well as ARINC429
and MIL-STD 1553 interfaces. |
|
 |
The system comes
preconfigured with a high pin count, mass
termination interface – making the system ideal for
supporting a variety of products including card
level and box level products such as LRUs and SRUs,
sub-system assemblies, and system level assemblies.
And like all other Geotest systems, the GBATS is
available with ATEasy – providing users an
integrated and complete test executive and test
development environment.

The UK military is purchasing a quantity of
AN/TSM-205s, an ultra-rugged portable
flight-line test set for Longbow platforms
such as the British WAH-64 Apache. The
AN/TSM-205 and AN/TSM-205As have been
successfully deployed worldwide since 1996
and are still in production. Based on COTS
PC equipment, these testers have been
successfully used in the harshest of
environments and have demonstrated very high
reliability and performance. The Royal
British Army has been using the AN/TSM-205A
test sets for several years and is now
procuring additional test sets to meet
operational requirements. |
|
| An FMS customer
has purchased five additional PXI-based
Maverick field testers. The MTS-206 test set
is an ultra-rugged portable flight-line
tester for the Maverick missile system. This
PXI based test set tests all parts of the
Maverick missile system including missiles,
launchers, and subassemblies such as the GCS
and CAS. First deployed in 2004, the
state-of-the-art MTS-206 is already
operational in 12 countries. The MTS-206 is
proof that COTS PXI products can be used in
harsh environments and operate with very
high reliability. As a commercial
alternative and based on the MTS-206 design,
Geotest offers the MTS-207 tester, which
meets the same environmental specs and
design standards as the MTS-206 and can be
used in any operational theater. |
|
| Geotest
received a contract to provide duplicate PXI-based
testers for the Longbow Hellfire program and
will be used for production of launchers.
The TS-201 and ETS-202 are production
testers for the Longbow launcher and have
been in use for several years. The TS-201 is
PC-based system while the newer ETS-202 is
PXI-based. Geotest has received a contract
to upgrade the TS-201 to a PXI configuration
and produce one more TS-201 and one more
ETS-202 in support of the Longbow launcher
program. |

In Europe last month,
Geotest and JTAG Technologies conducted a series of
free seminars and workshops about the most recent
advances in boundary-scan (JTAG) technology and
functional test. The series was so successful that
Geotest has decided to bring the seminar to the
American market.
The seminar focuses on strategies that will lower
your costs of design, test, and support by combining
boundary-scan and functional test methodologies. The
seminar includes an overview of boundary scan and
digital functional test methods and also features a
demonstration of how you can combine boundary scan
and digital test tools. If you are interested in
more information on this seminar or would like to
request a seminar in your area, please call
888.837.8297.
The functional test / JTAG seminar is
scheduled for the following date and location:
