Dranetz-BMI Wins the Gold at Olympics in Power Quality
Yan Qiamlu of the Beijing Joint Harvest Science & Technology Co
- a Dranetz-BMI distributor, and the Dranetz-BMI team (Terry
Chandler, Jerry Olechiw and Ross Ignall) were successful in
winning over the Olympics organization in Beijing, China to use
DBMI instruments to monitor the electric power that was being fed
into and in the Olympic National Stadium (Birds Nest) and
throughout the Olympic Facilities. Eleven sets of Datanodes of
Dranetz-BMI's Encore Series 61000 power quality monitoring
instruments will be installed in 4 substations. With this
equipment, they will be able to do benchmarking, find potential
faults or power quality problems, learn from our instruments how
to set up overall PQMS and to alleviate their concerns about
harmonics, flickers, sags, swells, transients and to ensure their
power quality meet Chinese power quality standards as well. With
the Olympics quickly coming upon us, it was rewarding to see that
Dranetz-BMI won the first gold medal for power quality. Job well
done everyone.
